Attribution & Third-Party Content Rights

Last updated: November 2, 2026

Your use of the API is governed by the Tavily Platform Terms of Service, unless you have signed a separate agreement with Tavily, which controls as written. Uses outside the standard Terms require an Enterprise Order Form, another signed written agreement, or express written permission from Tavily, so contact the sales team. Your contracting party is AlphaAI Technologies Inc. d/b/a Tavily, and the Nebius acquisition has not changed your terms, contracting entity, or data processing.

Do I have to attribute Tavily or the original sources when I display results or derived content?

  • No. Tavily's Terms do not require you to credit Tavily, or the original sources when you display results. Some source websites may require attribution under their own terms.

Does Tavily grant any rights to third-party content in results, or must I clear rights with each publisher? What obligations do I have regarding source-site terms?

  • Tavily does not grant any rights in third-party content that appears in results. That content belongs to its owners, and you are responsible for making sure your use complies with their rights and terms.

Does Tavily's crawler respect robots.txt, AI-crawler blocks and website terms of use?

  • Tavily's crawlers are designed to comply with applicable laws governing web data collection, and Tavily uses commercially reasonable efforts to respect widely recognized web access protocols, such as robots.txt. Website owners with questions about how Tavily accesses their site can contact support@tavily.com. Separately, you are responsible for making sure your own use of results complies with source websites' terms.

Can results or raw_content include paywalled, login-protected or subscriber-only content?

  • Tavily's results are based on publicly available web content only. If a page is protected by paywall and/or login-protected, Tavily will respect it.
