Permitted Use & Customer Applications

You can use Tavily in customer-facing apps, commercial products (including paid SaaS, paid reports, and ad-supported apps), and personal projects. The free Researcher plan may also be used commercially, with the same result-usage rights as paid plans. Free access is provided as-is, without support or warranties, so we recommend a paid plan for production workloads.

A few limits apply. Keep your API key on your servers and never give end users direct access to it. Don’t resell or give others direct access to the Tavily API itself, or use Tavily to build a product that competes with it. Your end-user terms must not create obligations for Tavily, and your end users must follow Tavily’s Acceptable Use Policy. Individuals must be 18 or over.
